Here is another knife review I have for you, and I am very excited to introduce you to this one!
The MTech MT-086 is a great all-around knife. You can use for batoning, cutting and chopping. Though, it’s probably not the best for chopping bigger branches. I use it for cutting, whether I’m out in the woods or at home.
Not only is the blade a good length at 7 inches, but it’s 3mm thick.
Here are some product details;
• Full Tang
• Comes with a Nylon Sheath
• 7 in. 440 Stainless Steel Blade
• Overall Length: 12 ¼ in.
• Weight: .5lbs (Though it has a good weight to it)
The handle is made out of ABS plastic with some gritty inserts in it, which really improves the grip in wet conditions.
As far as durability, you can baton with this knife with no fear of any damage. I have used it quite a bit for the past couple years, and the blade hasn’t chipped. It isn’t the sharpest knife out of the box, but it certainly isn’t dull.
I found this video on YouTube demonstrating it’s uses:
On the blade itself it says “USA Design.” However, in much smaller writing it says “Handcrafted in China.” Yes, it’s made in China.
If that seems like a big con to you, maybe you should see the price first..
This knife costs $17 on Amazon… That’s right. Only $17. Not only that, but it got a 4.6 out of 5 star rating on Amazon! So, not only is it inexpensive, but it is proven to be reliable as well.
I would highly recommend this knife for any camping, hiking, hunting, survival or bug-out situation.
Stay tuned for another knife review!
